Our High Standards
In addition to Parkview Nursing Centre’s accreditation status with Accreditation Canada, in order to maintain our strong focus on high-quality resident care Parkview Nursing Centre has a series of committees that help ensure that the views of residents, family and staff are heard and acted upon.
Professional Advisory Board:
Comprised of the facility’s management team, Public Health representatives, a Pharmacy Consultant, the facility Medical Director and Nursing Supervisors, the Board meets to discuss all issues involving the medical and care services for our residents.
Family Communication Board:
Through our Communication Board we attempt to keep family members updated on a range of issues including Ministry of Health and Long-Term care compliance reviews, recreation programming, special events and other points of interest.
Our volunteer Family Council consists of family members, former residents’ family members and other volunteers who encourage input into care and services provided to residents. This important group also serves as an advocate for residents – speaking for those who may be unable to speak for themselves.
The Residents’ Council, whose members are all residents, elected by their peers, deal with general issues and, in many cases, make suggestions for improvements. Monthly meetings often include families and friends as guests. The Residents’ Council also serves as the Welcoming Committee for new residents at Parkview Nursing Centre.
